Bears update: Rashaad Coward out vs. Vikings

Bears right guard Rashaad Coward has been ruled out for Sunday’s season finale against the Vikings, the Bears announced Saturday afternoon.

Coward suffered a knee injury against the Chiefs last week. Though veteran Ted Larsen replaced Coward in that game, rookie Alex Bars — who figures to battle Coward for the starting job in training camp next season — could start Sunday.

Coward, who was signed as a defensive lineman out of Old Dominion in 2017, switched to offensive line last season and has started the last 10 games as a replacement for Kyle Long, who was put on injured reserve with a hip injury after the Raiders game in London in Week 5.

Previously, wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion), nose tackle Eddie Goldman (concussion) and defensive end Akiem Hicks (elbow) had been ruled out for the Vikings game. Gabriel and Goldman did not travel with the team to Minneapolis. Right tackle Bobby Massie is doubtful. Cornerback Prince Amukamara is questionable.
