Bears Twitter is speculating why Matt Nagy has moved up his press conference

Bears head coach Matt Nagy is obligated to speak to the media three times per week, which is down one day from last season. This year, that’s meant Nagy speaks on Monday, Thursday and Friday during a typical game week.

But Nagy, who wasn’t scheduled to speak with the media Wednesday, is now scheduled to hold a press conference, which means there’s some sort of announcement coming.

There’s been a lot of news on the offensive front this week, including Nagy saying Justin Fields, Andy Dalton and Nick Foles were all under consideration to start against the Lions. That, and Nagy didn’t rule out handing over play calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.

Naturally, many Bears fans are left speculating about what Nagy is gearing up to announce — Lazor as the new play caller, Foles as starting quarterback or his own resignation. While that last one isn’t happening, the other two are certainly on the table.
