Bears’ Twitter account ranked among best in NFL

The Chicago Bears are coming off a disappointing 2019 season, where expectations fell flat and weaknesses were made apparent. Chicago failed to make the playoffs after winning the NFC North and locking up the No. 3 seed in 2018.

The Bears ranked among the middle of the pack in terms of their 8-8 record. But where did the Bears rank among NFL teams in the social media landscape?

Complex Sports ranked the Bears’ Twitter account among the top-10 in the NFL at No. 7. While Chicago was one of the best social media accounts in the league, it was a big drop-off from their 2019 ranking at No. 2.

This was their favorite tweet from last season:

The Bears’ Twitter sits at 1.3 million followers, and these last two years has seen some great creativity from their social media.

The Bears wowed us with their comic book creativity in 2019, and in 2020, they continued setting the bar high. You can’t miss an opportunity to weave in timely pop culture phenomena like Baby Yoda. While Matt Nagy & Co. try to figure out what went wrong last season, and what to do about Mitch Trubisky, they know they can rely on a social media squad that can run with the best of them. Now, the real question—who’s faster: Tarik Cohen sprinting toward the edge or the Bears’ social media manager selecting the perfect in-game GIF?

The Bears ranked ahead of the rest of the NFC North in the Vikings (13th), Packers (24th) and Lions (30th).

While the Bears did come out on top in the division in one regard following the 2019 season, ultimately the goal is take their third place finish in the NFC North standings and turn it into first place in 2020.
