Bears Training Camp: Riley Ridley, Emanuel Hall miss practice

The Chicago Bears wide receiver room is overflowing with young talent, but two of those young playmakers are currently nursing injuries. Fourth-round pick Riley Ridley (hamstring) and undrafted free agent Emanuel Hall (sports hernia) both missed practice Saturday.

Hall has been recovering from offseason surgery and missed most of the team’s offseason activities. He dodged the PUP list at the start of training camp which suggests his timetable for recovery shouldn’t be too long.

Ridley tweaked his hamstring on the first day of practices and it was deemed a minor concern by coach Matt Nagy, although he did say hamstring injuries are unpredictable.

Ridley, even with his injury, is a lock to make the final roster. The Bears view him as a draft-day steal and had him graded much higher than the fourth-round pick he ultimately became.

Hall, on the other hand, is in a training-camp battle with players like Javon Wims and Marvin Hall for an active roster spot. There’s a greater sense of urgency for him to get back on the field sooner than later.
