There’s something different about the energy surrounding Chicago Bears’ training camp this year.
You could feel it in how the fans packed the practice fields of Olivet Nazarene and in the high-pitched screams that emanated from fans when players and coaches came and went.
The hype and the high expectations for the 2019 season reached a fever pitch on Saturday, where 9,141 fans showed up for the final open practice of training camp.
It was the highest attendance for training camp this year — and at least the past five years in Bourbonnais.
Many Bears players shared their appreciation for the fans that came out to Bourbonnais over the past two weeks as the team prepares for the regular season.
Later this week, the Bears will head to New York for their second preseason game against the Giants on Friday.
