Bears trade Jordan Howard to Eagles for 2020 draft pick

The Chicago Bears traded RB Jordan Howard to the Philadelphia Eagles for a sixth-round pick in 2020, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Howard has been at the center of trade rumors all offseason because of his inability to do all the things Coach Matt Nagy expects of his running backs, most notably making plays as a receiver in the passing game.

Regardless of the fit — or lack thereof — the compensation for Howard feels awfully low for the only Bears running back in franchise history to start his career with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, including finishing second in the NFL in rushing in 2016.

The Bears are left with Tarik Cohen and Mike Davis as the top two running backs on the roster. It vaults the position near the top of the team’s draft needs this April.
