Bears to honor a decade each home game in centennial season

As the centennial season for the Chicago Bears approaches, the organization has announced plans to honor each decade in the storied history of this franchise.

Each home game, both preseason and regular season, the Bears will honor one decade of Bears football. According to ChicagoBears.com, in-game elements will highlight that game’s decade.

The Bears will recognize 10 charities, each of which will receive a $100,000 grant in honor of the 100th season, totaling $1 million in donations.

On Monday, the organization announced which decade will be honored at a specific home game.

PRESEASON

Aug. 8 – vs. Panthers – 1920s

Aug. 29 – vs. Titans – 1950s

REGULAR SEASON

Sept. 5 – vs. Packers – 1980s

Sept. 29 – vs. Vikings – 1930s

Oct. 20 – vs. Saints – 1970s

Oct. 27 – vs. Chargers – 2000s

Nov. 10 – vs. Lions – 1940s

Nov. 24 – vs. Giants – 1960s

Dec. 5 – vs. Cowboys – 1990s

Dec. 22 – vs. Chiefs – 2010s
