Bears TE Jimmy Graham: ‘I guarantee’ I’ll make more plays

DETROIT — By the time Jimmy Graham caught a two-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter Sunday, he’d been targeted four times without a reception.

He finished with three catches for 25 yards.

“After getting that first catch, getting my hands on the ball, I was ready and locked in,” Graham said after the Bears’ 27-23 win at Ford Field. “I hold myself to a high standard and early in that first half, I’ve gotta make those plays. And I will moving forward, I will guarantee that.”

Bears coach Matt Nagy blamed a lack of rhythm on the fact that quarterback Mitch Trubisky and Graham had never played together.

“We’re only going to get better, production-wise, in the passing game with those guys …” Nagy said. “Jimmy was the first one that came up to me and was like, ‘Hey, Coach, I promise you we’re going to get this thing going.’ And that’s all you need to hear. I got all the trust in the world in those guys. I love that room.”
