With the Lions game less than three days away, both tight end Ben Braunecker and receiver Taylor Gabriel have concussions.

Gabriel has already missed two starts this season with a concussion after hurting his head in the Bears’ Week 3 game against the Redskins.

Braunecker, the starter at a thin tight end position, dropped a likely 29-yard touchdown pass on Sunday against the Giants. If he can’t go, the Bears would likely start Jesper Horsted at the “U” tight end position. Horsted, a rookie converted receiver from Princeton, made his NFL debut Sunday. Adam Shaheen, the Bears’ former second-round pick who was a healthy scratch before he got hurt, remains out with a foot injury.

The Bears submitted a theoretical practice injury report Monday, per league rules, despite the fact they only held two walk-throughs.

Also on the injured list: right tackle Bobby Massie, who suffered what NFL Network called a high ankle sprain Sunday. If he can’t play Thursday, Cornelius Lucas would start in his place.

Cornerback Sherrick McManis, who hurt his groin covering a punt Sunday, remained out, as did inside linebacker Danny Trevathan, whose left elbow bent the wrong way two weeks ago.
