Bears’ Super Bowl odds sink after Andy Dalton signing

The Bears’ decision to sign Andy Dalton hurt their Super Bowl chances in the eyes of bettors.

Sportsbetting.ag was one of many gambling sites to decrease their championship chances, moving their odds from 33-1 to win the Super Bowl to 50-1. William Hill lowered the odds from 40-1 to 50-1.

The move is a reflection on Dalton, who went 4-5 last year as the Cowboys’ replacement quarterback, but is more indicative of the opinion about who won’t be playing quarterback for the Bears. The team’s interest in Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had made the Bears a trendy bet to win their division — or more — over the past month. That seems unlikely now, after the Seahawks decided against rebuilding their roster with Bears draft picks.

Where the Bears were the only preferred Wilson destination without a settled quarterback, they would have to bid against most of the NFL if the Texans ever make star Deshaun Watson available.

Only six teams have longer Super Bowl odds than the Bears, per S portsbetting.ag.
