Bears sign speedy WR Marvin Hall, Jr.

The Chicago Bears signed former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Marvin Hall, Jr. to a one-year contract Friday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Hall appeared in all 16 games last season, registering 10 catches for 149 yards and one touchdown. He’ll bring more speed to special teams, where he returned 26 kickoffs for 616 yards in 2018.

Hall was signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Washington in 2016. He was waived by Oakland at the end of training camp and spent the last few weeks of the season on the Cardinals practice squad. He joined the Falcons practice squad in 2017, earning a promotion to the active roster in October that year.

Hall isn’t expected to factor much in the passing game, but his speed will give Matt Nagy yet another weapon to have some fun with in training camp and the preseason.

Hey, ya never know. Speed kills, and with a coach like Nagy drawing up the plays, Hall could end up making a handful of big plays in 2019.
