Bears sign safety Kentrell Brice to a reserve/future contract

The Chicago Bears signed veteran safety Kentrell Brice to a reserve/future contract on Wednesday.

Brice spent three seasons with the Green Bay Packers from 2016-18, where he played in 36 games with 14 starts. He logged 100 tackles, one interception, six pass breakups, one sack, one fumble recovery and one tackle-for-loss.

In 2018, Brice had a career-high 10 starts and 50 tackles, which included nine tackles and one sack of Mitchell Trubisky in the season opener against the Bears.

Brice signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency last season, but he was waived before the start of the season.

The Bears have signed 10 players to reserve/future contracts:

  • WR Reggie Davis
  • WR Thomas Ives
  • WR Alex Wesley
  • TE Dax Raymond
  • OL Dino Boyd
  • OL Sam Mustipher
  • LB James Vaughters
  • DB Xavier Crawford
  • DB Stephen Denmark
  • TE Darion Clark

Reserve/future contracts are signed for players not on an active roster by season’s end, which reserves them a spot on a team’s 90-man roster.
