Bears signing former Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to 1-year deal

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers basically just swapped safeties from the 2018 season.

After Adrian Amos left to join the division rival, Ryan Pace is signing a former Packer to replace him, agreeing to a one-year deal with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Clinton-Dix was traded from Green Bay to Washington during the season for a fourth-round pick, seemingly lowering his value to the point where the Bears could get him on this type of contract.

He was college teammates with Eddie Jackson for one season at Alabama, and now they’re reunited in the secondary in Chicago.

Clinton-Dix recorded 11 interceptions across the last three seasons, and he’s still only 26 years old.

He’ll be looking for a breakout, “prove-it” season with the Bears on this short-term contract to then cash in again next offseason on a long-term deal.

Clinton-Dix might not have the consistency that Amos provided, but he has the potential to add more impact plays to a Bears defense that thrives off of turnovers.
