Bears S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to return to practice Tuesday

When the Chicago Bears kicked off training camp last Friday, they did so without their new veteran safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who was nursing a knee injury sustained during minicamp.

While the Bears won’t host another public practice until Thursday, they will be back on the practice field Tuesday for a closed practice. And according to Clinton-Dix, he’ll be practicing tomorrow.

Clinton-Dix has yet to practice with the team during training camp, but it sounds like the Bears will activate him off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

“The update on my status is, I’ll be back tomorrow,” Clinton-Dix told a fan at training camp on Monday. “They’ve been doing a great job taking care of me here, you know just controlling my injury, and I’m excited about it. They’ve been doing great things in the training room to get me ready for training camp, so man I miss the grind.”

The Bears signed Clinton-Dix this offseason to a one-year prove-it deal worth $3.5 million. Clinton-Dix was attracted to the winning culture coach Matt Nagy has installed, as well as a reunion with former Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson and the trajectory for this Bears team in 2019.

Deon Bush has been filling in for Clinton-Dix with the first team in his absence, and he’ll move back to the second team when Clinton-Dix returns.
