The Bears ruled out four starters for Thursday’s game against the Cowboys — and figure to lose a fifth, too.
Cornerback Prince Amukamara, who reported his injured hamstring to the Bears immediately after the Thanksgiving game against the Lions, was ruled doubtful on Wednesday. If he can’t play, the team figures to start second-year cornerback Kevin Toliver would start in his place.
The Bears could also move slot cornerback Buster Skrine to outside cornerback in certain situations.
“That’s one of those deals where if Prince is not able to go, or whoever it is on the team can’t, we feel like we have pretty good depth,” Bears coach Matt Nagy said Tuesday.
As expected, the Bears ruled out four other players: tight end Ben Braunecker and receiver Taylor Gabriel, who have concussions; right tackle Bobby Massie, who has a right ankle injury; and inside linebacker Danny Trevathan, who has an elbow injury.
The Bears submitted an injury report Wednesday, per league rules, even though they didn’t hold a practice.
