Bears’ roster for rookie minicamp includes 8 kickers

The Chicago Bears are set to kickoff rookie minicamp on Friday, and the full roster previews a mix of draft picks, undrafted rookie free agents and veteran free agents looking to earn a roster spot.

One thing that stands out is that the Bears will have eight kickers in camp this weekend, including the four kickers currently under contract in Chris Blewitt, Redford Jones, Elliott Fry and undrafted free agent John Baron II.

Four other kickers will be in camp on a tryout basis, including Casey Bednarski, Emmitt Carpenter, Spencer Evans and Justin Yoon, as GM Ryan Pace continues his search for answers at kicker.

The Bears’ rookie draft class, including running back David Montgomery, receiver Riley Ridley, cornerback Duke Shelley, running back Kerrith Whyte and cornerback Stephen Denmark, will certainly be a focus during camp.

But there are also a handful of undrafted free agents that will garner attention, including receiver Emanuel Hall, tight end Dax Raymond, offensive linemen Alex Bars and Sam Mustipher, kicker John Baron II and edge rushers Matt Betts, Dylan Carrol and Chuck Harris.

The Bears’ rookie minicamp runs Friday through Sunday at Halas Hall.
