Bears re-sign safety Deon Bush to 1-year deal

After losing Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Bears are bringing back safety Deon Bush.

Bush is signing a one-year deal worth $1.4 million, according to Adam Schefter.

Now the question becomes whether Bush will start at strong safety opposite Eddie Jackson. According to Chris Emma, Bush appears to have the advantage when it comes to getting the starting job, but there will be competition.

Whether that competition comes from the NFL Draft or free agency remains to be seen.

It’s unclear if the Bears will make any other moves at safety in free agency. But there are still some veteran safety options on the free agent market, including Tony Jefferson and Vonn Bell.
