Bears re-sign 3rd-string quarterback Tyler Bray to one-year deal

The Chicago Bears are keeping their quarterback room intact.

The team announced the re-signing of third-string quarterback Tyler Bray Wednesday to a one-year deal.

Bray joined the team last offseason and helped with the transition to Matt Nagy’s offense.

He spent most of the season on the practice squad before receiving a promotion to the active roster when Mitchell Trubisky was injured for two games.

Bray has appeared in one regular season game and attempted one pass in his six-year NFL career, but he was college teammates with new Bears weapon Cordarrelle Patterson.

The third-string quarterback shouldn’t see the field at all in 2019 unless something goes horribly wrong, but he’s familiar with the system and offers a camp arm on a veteran-minimum contract.
