Bears radio voice Jeff Joniak headed to Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame

Bears radio voice Jeff Joniak was named to the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame.

Jeff Joniak, who just began his 19th season as the radio voice of the Bears, will be inducted into the Chicago Sports Hall of Fame next month, the team said Thursday.

He’ll be joined by former Bears defensive lineman Israel Idonije, as well as stars from other sports in town: White Sox legend and new Baseball Hall of Famer Harold Baines; the Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane; Jim Magee, who won the MLS MVP award with the Fire; Northwestern athletic director Jim Phillips; former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz and Fighting Irish players Desmond Howard and Bryant Young; and former Cubs Cy Young Award winner Rick Sutcliffe.

The ceremony will be Sept. 25 at Wintrust Arena.
