Bears QB Mitch Trubisky will start vs. Saints

The Chicago Bears QB1 is ready to make his return to the football field on Sunday.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, quarterback Mitch Trubisky is set to return to action and will start when the Bears take on the New Orleans Saints after suffering an injury to his non-throwing shoulder three weeks ago against the Minnesota Vikings.

The news doesn’t come as a surprise as Trubisky was a full participant in practice all week, but was listed questionable for Sunday’s game. Bears coach Matt Nagy said he was “cautiously optimistic” he would play, but wouldn’t commit to suiting up his starter.

Trubisky has thrown for 588 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for a quarterback rating of 81 in three games and one drive in 2019.

The Bears will release their inactives 90 minutes prior to kickoff but don’t expect Trubisky to be among them.

The Bears face the Saints at 3:25 pm CST and can be seen on FOX and heard on news radio WBBM 780 (Chicago) and 105.9 FM.
