Bears QB Mitch Trubisky set to start vs. Rams after productive practices

CHICAGO _ Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky is set to return Sunday night against the Rams at Soldier Field after completing his third straight practice Friday.

Trubisky missed the last two games with a right shoulder injury he suffered Nov. 18 against the Vikings. The Bears went 1-1 with backup quarterback Chase Daniel, beating the Lions and losing to the Giants.

Trubisky resumed throwing late last week and practiced in full all three days this week. He returns at the right time as the Bears must try to keep pace with a Rams team averaging 34.9 points.

"He put together three really good days in practice," coach Matt Nagy said. "The velocity on his throws was good. His decision making, just getting in and out of the huddle, that part was easy. The main thing was really seeing, conditioning-wise, can he hold up? And he did well."

Nagy said he feels "complete excitement" about Trubisky's return and doesn't think he'll be limited in any way.

"For the most part we're not pulling back in any regard," Nagy said.

Safety Eddie Jackson didn't practice Friday because of a shin injury and is questionable for Sunday's game. Nagy said it was "a little bit of a rest day" for Jackson because the Bears practiced inside on the turf and added there is "nothing major there at all."

Defensive lineman Bilal Nichols was limited in practice with a knee issue, as he usually is on Fridays when the Bears practice indoors. He was listed as questionable.

Backup safety Deon Bush, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, didn't practice and is doubtful.
