Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields hyperextended his left knee in the win over the Raiders and is still dealing with soreness, but said flatly he will play against the Packers this weekend.

“Yeah, I’ll be good by Sunday,” he said Wednesday.

When pressed on whether that meant he was not 100% at the moment, Fields added, “I mean, I’m feeling discomfort all around. I took a few shots this past Sunday, but like I said, yeah, I’ll be good by Sunday.”

Fields exited for three plays against the Raiders after defensive end Yannick Ngakoue took him down in the second quarter, and veteran Andy Dalton filled in for him. Dalton lost the starting job after suffering a bone bruise in his knee, and Fields played well enough in his absence to take over. Dalton, now fully healthy, is the backup.

Bears coach Matt Nagy said he expected Fields would be a full participant for practice Wednesday afternoon.
