Bears predictions: Week 9 at Titans

The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday at the Titans:

RICK MORRISSEY

Bears 24-23

The Bears are coming off losses to the Rams and Saints in a three-game stretch that was supposed to tell us if they’re any good. They’ll rebound against the Titans just to confuse everyone. Season: 5-3.

RICK TELANDER

Titans 28-14

One of these teams is going to lose three games straight. That will be a heart-breaker for the loser. Consider these teams were once a combined 10-1. Then consider the Bears have an offense that resembles a child’s crayon depiction of the universe. Season: 5-3.

PATRICK FINLEY

Titans 21-20

The 5-3 Bears have been an underdog in all but one game this season — the home opener against the pitiful Giants. After punches and suspensions and injuries and a coronavirus outbreak, though, this feels like the week they run out of magic. Season: 7-1.

JASON LIESER

Bears 14-13

It’s rare, but sometimes rag-tag offensive lines band together and inexplicably deliver a viable performance. Maybe that’ll happen for the Bears. And while the Bears took the Saints to overtime last week, the Titans got drubbed by the Bengals. Season: 3-5.

MARK POTASH

Titans 24-20

The Bears are mired in a little difficulty with offensive line injuries and coronavirus issues that cancelled practice Thursday. They’ll rally as a team to keep it close. But against the Titans, it’s too big of a hill to climb. Season: 4-4.
