The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday against the Colts:
RICK MORRISSEY
Colts 17-16
What, you thought Nick Foles was going to immediately solve all the Bears’ offensive problems? Perhaps in time but not against the Colts, who lead the NFL with six interceptions, two for touchdowns. The Bears’ defense needs to get to Philip Rivers, who isn’t what he used to be. Season: 2-1.
RICK TELANDER
Bears 27-23
The thought of the Bears being 4-0, with possibly the best record in the NFC after this weekend, does not compute. But we’re on Non-Trubisky Time. It took almost four years, but there’s a new clock in town. And it ticks! Season: 2-1.
PATRICK FINLEY
Colts 19-17
Football Outsiders’ well-respected Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) ranks the Colts as the best team in football — with the best defense. The Bears will be better with Foles than without him — but don’t underestimating Frank Reich’s team. The smart people certainly don’t. Season: 2-1.
JASON LIESER
Bears 24-19
Foles’ debut as the Bears’ starting quarterback will be a hit and he’ll deliver their most substantial and convincing victory of the season. This is by far the best opponent the Bears have faced, and they’re about to prove their playoff ambition is legitimate. Season: 2-1.
MARK POTASH
Bears 24-23
This is a tough spot for the Bears, coming off an emotional come-from-behind victory on the road and facing a quality opponent in the Colts. But the Foles boost is real. Season: 2-1.
