Bears predictions: Week 14 vs. Texans

The Bears have played the Texans four times.

The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday against the Texans at Soldier Field:

RICK MORRISSEY

Texans 24-13

It’s not as if the Texans are what would be termed “very good.’’ But they do have an excellent quarterback whom the Bears passed on in the 2017 draft. Hard to buy that Deshaun Watson won’t be motivated by the snub Sunday. Could be another painful day for GM Ryan Pace. Season: 7-5.

RICK TELANDER

Bears 23-22

Seven in a row? Hellfire, the Bears have a chance to lose 10 in a row. If they lose to the 4-8 Texans, I say run the table. Go for total badness and 5-11. Then blow it all up. Season: 6-6.

PATRICK FINLEY

Bears 31-30

Watson will light up Soldier Field on Sunday. But the Texans defense — which have given up the third-most yards, second-most rushing yards and ninth-most points in the NFL — will let the Bears earn the team’s first win in almost two months. Season: 9-3.

JASON LIESER

Texans 27-20

This is a dangerous matchup for the Bears. Watson presents all kinds of problems for a defense that has fallen off the past few weeks. J.J. Watt will feast on a fledgling offensive line. The Texans average 24 points per game, and if they hit that number they’ll beat the Bears. Season: 4-8.

MARK POTASH

Bears 22-20 (OT)

The disruption due to multiple positive coronavirus tests is ominous for a team already on tilt with a six-game losing streak. But at this point, the more the Bears wing it, the better they might be. Season: 6-6.
