Bears predictions: Week 13 vs. Lions

The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday against the Lions at Soldier Field:

RICK MORRISSEY

Bears 20-17

Let’s see: A struggling Lions team and an absence of high expectations for the Bears. Sounds like Mitch Trubisky’s kind of game. It’s not a sure thing, given Mitch’s low-watt history, but it is a recipe for a Bears’ victory. Season: 7-4.

RICK TELANDER

Bears 12-10

I predicted the Bears wouldn’t lose four in a row. Then I predicted they wouldn’t lose five in a row. Now I predict they won’t lose six in a row. Senior moment? Weak-kneed homer? American patriot? You decide. Season: 6-5.

PATRICK FINLEY

Bears 17-9

The Lions have lost four of their last five games, and those losses came by a combined 70 points. The Bears will take the field Sunday having not won in 49 days, but finally have a team — and there are a few — they can handle. Season: 9-2.

JASON LIESER

Bears 31-10

This is the perfect storm for the Bears. Their defense is embarrassed, the offense gets a favorable matchup and the Lions are all-around awful. This is exactly what the Bears need. Season: 4-7.

MARK POTASH

Bears 23-17

The Bears are not good, but they’re not as bad as they looked against the Packers, and usually play the Lions well. With or without Akiem Hicks, the defense should respond after crapping out last week. Season: 6-5.
