The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ Thanksgiving game Thursday at the Lions:
RICK MORRISSEY
Lions 17-13
Lions quarterback Jeff Driskel, whom no one had heard of a month ago, strained a hamstring Sunday. Yet I’m still picking Detroit to beat a Mitch Trubisky-led offense. My Bears confidence has hit rock bottom. Season: 7-4.
RICK TELANDER
Bears 20-18
The thought of .500 is almost fascinating. Its kind of see-through, smell-free...blah. It’s watered-down vanilla. It’s what the Bears can achieve by beating this hard luck, if not wretched, Lions team. Why not? Don’t disturb my turkey dinner. Season: 7-4.
PATRICK FINLEY
Bears 20-10
The Bears’ only win at Ford Field since 2012 came last year, when cornerback Kyle Fuller picked Matthew Stafford in the end zone with a minute to play. But the Lions are in a free-fall — and Stafford won’t be there. Season: 7-4.
MARK POTASH
Lions 19-16
The Bears did not inspire a lot of confidence with a sloppy victory over the Giants last week, and are banged up. Lions are even worse — and also banged up — but are at home on a short week. Season: 7-4.
JASON LIESER
Bears 19-9
NFC North teams are always thankful for the Lions. Whether it’s Driskel or David Blough, it’s going to be bad. The Bears have momentum offensively, which should be easy to continue against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Season: 6-5.
