Bears place DE Roy Robertson-Harris on injured reserve

The Chicago Bears lost a valuable member of their defensive line when it was reported that defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris was having season-ending shoulder surgery.

The Bears made it official by placing Robertson-Harris on injured reserve on Thursday with the shoulder injury he suffered against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8.

In eight games this season, Robertson-Harris recorded 10 tackles, one tackle-for-loss and five quarterback hits with six starts. Robertson-Harris is slated to be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Earlier this offseason, Robertson-Harris signed a second-round tender and signed a one-year contract worth $3.259 million.

With Robertson-Harris landing on injured reserve, the Bears will be leaning on defensive end Brent Urban and defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr., who have both proven to be valuable members of this Chicago defense.
