Bears’ opponent adds player to reserve/COVID-19 list

Two days before they’re scheduled to host the Bears, the Panthers put center Tyler Larsen on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday.

Larsen played five special teams snaps last week against the Falcons, who put one of their defensive linemen, Marlon Davidson, on the same list Tuesday. Davidson played 12 defensive snaps and five special teams downs in their game.

The Panthers have spent the week under the NFL’s intensive protocol because of their interaction with Davidson. Their players had to pass a point-of-care test to enter their facility, had to practice in gloves and masks and hold their meetings virtually. They’ll remain under the same protocol indefinitely.

The Bears have one player on the reserve/COVID-19 list: offensive lineman Badara Traore, whose Oct. 9 test came up positive.

Offensive line coach Juan Castillo is self-quarantining after having close contact with someone in his personal life who tested positive. The Bears said earlier this week that Castillo had tested negative, and coach Matt Nagy said Friday he’s doing well and “calling everybody else down at the hall about 50 times a day.”
