Bears open as road favorites vs. Redskins in Week 3

The Chicago Bears will come off of back-to-back weeks of extra rest and preparation to face off against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.

Coming off a last-second 16-14 win over the Broncos, the Bears will once again hit the road in their second primetime outing of the season, opening as four-point favorites over Washington.

The Bears avoided falling into an early 0-2 hole, thanks to the last-second heroics of kicker Eddy Pineiro. While Chicago’s offense looked more in sync than the week prior, the unit still has a long way to go if they’re to be firing on all cylinders.

The Redskins are coming off back-to-back losses to division rivals, a 32-27 loss to the Eagles and 31-21 loss to the Cowboys. After Dallas got off to a slow start offensively, the Cowboys were able to pounce on Washington’s defense, scoring 21 unanswered points in a 31-21 win.

It remains to be seen if the Bears offense can hit the 31-point mark. They’ve yet to eclipse the 20-point mark this season, but Washington feels like a good test for the offense.

Chicago’s defense will have a tough task in going up against running back Adrian Peterson, who killed the Bears for years. This isn’t that same Bears defense, nor is it the same Adrian Peterson.
