Bears open as 5.5-point favorites over Raiders in Week 5

The Chicago Bears (3-1) are coming off an impressive 16-6 victory over division rivals the Minnesota Vikings (2-2), which they accomplished without several key starters.

Chicago is headed to London for a Week 5 match-up against the Oakland Raiders (2-2), where the Bears’ defense is looking to continue its dominance.

The Bears have opened as 5.5-point favorites over the Raiders, according to BetMGM.

Chicago will likely face the Raiders without starting QB Mitch Trubisky, who injured his left shoulder on the Bears’ first series. But that might not matter when the Bears have this dominant defense that was able to shutdown the Vikings’ vaunted run game — and the NFL’s leading rusher in Dalvin Cook — with three starters missing.

Then there’s the fact that All-Pro Khalil Mack will be out for blood against Jon Gruden and his former team, which didn’t feel like he was worthy of being paid as the highest defensive player in the NFL.

The guy that will be on the receiving end of Mack’s revenge is his friend, Raiders QB Derek Carr, who hasn’t faced a defense like Chicago’s this season.
