Bears receiver Allen Robinson will go to Miami for Super Bowl week as one of the league’s 32 nominees for Walter Payton Man of the Year. The award, named after the former Bears great, recognizes philanthropy and on-field excellence.
Robinson’s “Within Reach Foundation” provides educational resources to low-income Chicago students.
“This means a lot to me, especially given what the Payton name means to this city, organization and league,” he said in a statement.
Five Bears players have won the award — most recently, Charles Tillman in 2013. The winner will be announced at NFL Honors on the eve of Super Bowl LIV.
