Bears met with WR Kenny Golladay: report

Free agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay, considered the best available free agent wide receiver, met with Bears coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace on Wednesday night, ESPN reported.

Golladay is a St. Rita and NIU alum.

He’s continuing his free agent tour, though, and is scheduled to meet with the Giants on Thursday night.

It’s unclear if the Bears signing Golladay would be to complement or replace Allen Robinson, who was franchise tagged earlier this month but has been unable to work out a long-term deal with the franchise. The Bears could try to trade Robinson if they found a player they believed could replace him as the team’s No. 1 receiver.

Golladay was drafted by the Lions in the third round in 2017. He had a career-best 1,190 receiving yards and led the NFL with 11 receiving touchdowns in 2019. He was limited by a hip injury last year, appearing in only five games.
