Khalil Mack avoids having to be subject to ‘Hard Knocks’ cameras

Khalil Mack isn’t a player who loves the spotlight or media attention. On Tuesday, the Oakland Raiders gave him another reason to appreciate his blockbuster trade to the Chicago Bears.

HBO announced that Jon Gruden’s squad will be the subject of their annual series “Hard Knocks,” which follows an NFL team through training camp.

Gruden hinted earlier in the week that the television cameras could be coming to California, and now the attention will be on Antonio Brown, Richie Incognito and cast of characters Mike Mayock has assembled in the bay.

The Raiders were one of five teams the NFL was allowed to force onto “Hard Knocks” because they fail to meet the exemption criteria. Detroit, San Francisco, Washington and the New York Giants also would have been unable to say no. Because the Bears made the playoffs last season, they were allowed to decline.
