Kicker Eddy Pineiro will head to Soldier Field on Friday to practice in the fall weather, Bears special teams coordinator Chris Tabor said Thursday.
He’ll do it in good health — Pineiro feels fine, his coach said, despite being hit after an extra point in the Raiders game. The rookie has been dealing with a pinched nerve in his knee since before the Redskins game, but is feeling close to normal. He’s not on the injury report this week.
One good sign: He’s expected to kick off in place of punter Pat O’Donnell, whose duties shifted in Week 3.
“Hoping so,” Tabor said. “We’re working on it and we’ll see where that’s at.”
Robbie Gould famously practiced at Soldier Field to help master its bizarre wind patterns. Cody Parkey didn’t begin doing the same until he struggled in the middle of last season.
