Bears have had high attendance rate at offseason workouts

Winning is contagious, as is the culture that Matt Nagy has created. So it’s no wonder the Bears were so excited to get back to work.

Considering how their 2018 season ended — on a double-dink missed field goal — you could say there’s a sense of unfinished business for this team.

The Bears kicked off OTAs on Tuesday, and Nagy noted the team’s near-perfect attendance at offseason workouts.

That high attendance rate during voluntary workouts is something Nagy takes pride in because it shows the hunger and dedication his team has when it comes to creating a winning environment.

“They understand how big and how important culture is to us,” he said.

It’s a combination of competition and fun that makes the culture Nagy has crafted so enticing to returning veterans and what drew the attention of newcomers.

It also makes the Bears even more dangerous.

The Bears conclude their first three-day OTA session on Thursday. Their final six OTA practices will run May 29-31 and June 4-7 before the team’s mandatory full-squad minicamp concludes the offseason program June 11-13.
