Bears have allowed fourth-fewest points through Week 12

The success of the 2019 Chicago Bears has been hampered by its struggling offense. Look no further than how many points the Bears’ defense has allowed through Week 12.

When all is said and done, the Bears’ defense has done its job this season, allowing just 17.1 points per game, which is fourth-best in the NFL. The offense, however, has not. They’ve scored 17.1 points per game this season, which is fifth-worst in the league.

The other four teams in the conversation — the Patriots, 49ers, Bills and Ravens — are all destined to make the playoffs and are legitimate contenders. The different between those four teams and the Bears? Those other teams have offenses that can score more than their defenses are allowing.

While the Bears are clinging to slim playoff hopes ahead of Week 13, thoughts are already drifting to the offseason where general manager Ryan Pace needs to address the slew of weaknesses on the offense.
