Bears guard James Daniels suffers pec injury in Week 5 win over Buccaneers

The Chicago Bears improved their record to 4-1 after Thursday night’s 20-19 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but they may have lost a key starter on offense along the way.

Left guard James Daniels suffered a pectoral injury and is will have an MRI to determine the extent of the damage.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Bears fear Daniels will be lost for the season.

Daniels, 23, started every game this season, bringing his career total to 31 starts since being selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Daniels entered Week 5 as the Bears’ seventh-highest graded player on offense, per Pro Football Focus, and is considered one of the team’s building blocks along the offensive line.

We’ll have an update on Daniels’ injury as soon as it becomes available.
