Bears fans cautiously optimistic about potential to trade up for QB Justin Fields

The 2021 NFL draft can’t get here soon enough, especially as the quarterback drama continues to unfold just days before the draft.

There’s no doubt that the first three picks of the draft will all be quarterbacks. The only question is, outside of Trevor Lawrence to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Zach Wilson to the New York Jets, who the San Francisco 49ers will target.

Well, it sounds like they’ve narrowed it down to Mac Jones and Trey Lance, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Which would leave Justin Fields, who was once a top-two quarterback prospect, still on the board.

Naturally, Chicago Bears fans want general manager Ryan Pace to do whatever it takes to trade up to draft Fields, if that happens to be the case. And if the 49ers really do pass on Fields, Bears fans think there’s an actual realistic possibility of landing him.
