Bears fans aren’t happy that the team isn’t expected to reach long-term deal with Allen Robinson

It doesn’t come as a surprise that the Chicago Bears and star wide receiver Allen Robinson aren’t expected to reach a long-term extension before Thursday’s franchise-tag deadline. After all, the two sides hadn’t had serious negotiations since last September, where Robinson made it clear he felt disrespected.

But that doesn’t make the decision any less ridiculous given Robinson’s success with the Bears over the last three years, where he’s coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with inconsistent quarterback play.

And while Robinson once said that he’d like to finish out his career in Chicago, that seems like a pipe dream now that the Bears have disrespected him amid contract negotiations last September.

While every sign has been pointing to this for months, the reaction to the news went exactly as you’d expect. Bears fans aren’t happy with GM Ryan Pace, who, aside from the 2021 NFL draft, has had a terrible offseason.
