Chicago Bears fans are a patient bunch when it comes to the team’s quarterback. Let’s face it, do they have any other choice?
The Bears haven’t had the best luck when it comes to finding a franchise passer. Mitch Trubisky was supposed to be that guy when he was selected second overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by GM Ryan Pace, but the roller coaster ride of highs and lows came to an apparent end in Week 3, when Trubisky was pulled in favor of veteran Nick Foles.
Foles was named the team’s starter one day later and made his debut in Chicago’s starting lineup Sunday against the Colts.
And Bears fans were left waiting, once again, for an afternoon that they could feel confident in their quarterback.
Remember: This fanbase is patient, and they aren’t ready to give up on Foles after one bad start that totaled 249 passing yards with one touchdown and an interception in a 19-11 loss to Indianapolis.
In fact, an overwhelming 76% of fans polled remain confident that Foles is the right guy for the job.

Let’s face it: Trubisky had his shot. He’s started 44 games for the Bears, and while he’s won more than he lost (26-18), his record is the product of a strong supporting cast on defense.
Bears fans are right. Now’s not the time to question whether Foles should remain in the starting lineup. He needs at least four games of work with Chicago’s starting receivers and game-planning with Matt Nagy before a real assessment of his role can be made.
