Bears fans are thrilled, and a little shocked, Justin Fields has been named starting QB moving forward

It’s officially Justin Fields time in Chicago.

Matt Nagy announced that Fields has been named the Bears’ starting quarterback moving forward, which was a surprise given his comments Monday where he continued to stick with Andy Dalton as the starter, when healthy.

But it doesn’t matter how it happened or who had to intervene from above. The only thing that matters is that the Fields era can officially begin — without worrying that his development is going to be hindered by putting him back on the bench in favor of a quarterback on a one-year deal.

Following a rough debut against the Browns in Week 3, Fields rebounded in impressive fashion against the Lions, where he made some pretty impressive deep completions to Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson.

Now, Fields will face another test when the Bears face the Raiders on the road. But without the threat of a healthy Dalton waiting to take back his job, we can just worry about Fields getting some valuable game experience for the rest of his rookie season.

As you can imagine, Bears fans are a combination of excited, shocked and thankful that Fields has been handed the keys at quarterback moving forward.
