Bears coaches working from home

The Bears’ coaches are working from home, and not Halas Hall. | Chicago Bears

If the Bears are going to lean on their coaches during free agency, they’ll have to use a phone.

The team said Monday that Halas Hall — as well as its offices downtown and at Soldier Field — will remain closed indefinitely because of directives from the state and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Only a “limited number of staff” remain at Halas Hall, the team said. Coaches are among the employees working from home.

The team also said that, in accordance with the CDC recommendation against gatherings of more than 50 for the next eight weeks, the Bears will not hold press conferences when they sign free agents. Rather, they will hold teleconferences.
