GREEN BAY, Wis. — Even before the Vikings eliminated the Bears from playoff contention by beating the Chargers late Sunday afternoon, the NFL decided to keep the Bears-Chiefs game on “Sunday Night Football” next week.

Sources said earlier in the week that the NFL and NBC would consider moving the Titans-Saints game into its slot — and the Bears to the afternoon — were the Bears eliminated.

But the network will stay with the Bears’ game at Soldier Field for prime time, no doubt because of Chicago’s market size and the allure of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
