Bears are 'cautiously optimistic' QB Mitch Trubisky will start against Saints

CHICAGO _ Bears coach Matt Nagy is "cautiously optimistic" quarterback Mitch Trubisky will start against the Saints on Sunday at Soldier Field, Nagy said before Wednesday's practice.

All indications are that Trubisky will start if he suffers no setbacks or significant discomfort during or after three full-speed practices Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Trubisky said he'll wear a harness on his left shoulder, which became dislocated on a tackle six snaps into the Sept. 29 victory against the Vikings. At his media session before Wednesday's practice, his first since the injury, he said he feels "close" to 100%.

"I've just got to show the training staff and the coaches that my shoulder and everything is strong enough to be able to put me out there, to withstand hits, to be able to do my job to 100 percent," Trubisky said. "Hopefully once I show everyone that I'm good to go in practice this week, they'll let me roll and not look back."
