Bears activate TE Jimmy Graham off reserve/COVID-19 list

Things might finally be trending in the right direction for the Chicago Bears amid their COVID-19 outbreak. Tight end Jimmy Graham has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday.

Not that you probably missed him, given Graham hasn’t been involved on offense at all this season. In fact, he has just one catch for 11 yards this season.

Interestingly enough, tight ends have become more prominent on offense over the last couple of weeks with Cole Kmet, Jesse James and Jesper Horsted getting opportunities in the passing game. You wonder, with the trade deadline tomorrow, if the Bears might be willing to deal Graham — or if he’ll even have some suitors.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy remains under COVID protocols after testing positive last Monday. Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor served as the acting head coach on Sunday against the 49ers in Nagy’s absence.

No word on the status of Nagy or receivers coach Mike Furrey, who’s been on the COVID list for a few weeks, as of early Monday morning. Right tackle Germain Ifedi, who’s on injured reserve with a knee injury, also remains on the COVID list.
