Bears activate Ha Ha Clintion-Dix from PUP list

The Chicago Bears defense appears to be at full strength entering Tuesday’s training camp practice with news that safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has been activated from the physically unable to perform list (PUP).

Clinton-Dix suffered a knee sprain toward the end of offseason workouts that lingered into the start of training camp. Neither GM Ryan Pace nor coach Matt Nagy considered the injury serious, and fortunately, they were being honest.

Clinton-Dix will replace Adrian Amos alongside Eddie Jackson at safety. Amos signed a lucrative four-year, $36 million contract with the Packers this offseason.

The Bears secondary will have a few new pieces in 2019. In addition to Clinton-Dix, free-agent signee Buster Skrine is expected to man the nickel corner duties, replacing Bryce Callahan who signed with former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and the Broncos.

In addition to Clinton-Dix, reserve tackle T.J. Clemmings is healthy enough to practice. Clemmings was once considered a promising draft prospect out of Pittsburgh, but his time in Minnesota, Washington and Oakland was marred by subpar play an injury. Still, he has some upside and a legitimate chance to be Chicago’s swing tackle in 2019.
