Bear Grylls was seen in his helicopter landing in Wales

Adventurer Bear Grylls has made a flying visit to Wales, and was spotted arriving in grand fashion.

The star, popular for his wilderness survival television shows, stopped off at Caernarfon Airport on Tuesday, June 29 in a bright yellow helicopter with the number four emblazoned across it. He was stopping off to refill the aircraft with petrol and told those he saw at the airport that he was in between filming an upcoming television series.

Bear recently appeared on ITV to put rugby star Jonny Wilkinson and former boxer Nicola Adams through their paces in the harsh terrain of Dartmoor for his two-part show 'Wild Adventure', where they faced challenges from rock climbing, rappelling, and abseiling to crossing ice-cold rivers.

The 47-year-old is no stranger to Wales. He owns a private island off the Gwynedd coast, with a bolthole on Ynys Tudwal Fawr near Abersoch and is in the process of constructing a jetty.

In 2016, we reported how he picked his top ten things to do in Britain, and four of them were in Wales. He highlighted reaching the summit of Pen y Fan, walking the Llyn Peninsula coastal path, walking Snowdon on foot, and paragliding around the Sugar Loaf peak in the Black Mountains. He recently announced that he plans to collaborate with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh for an upcoming adventure series on Netflix. Filming is set to take place the next two months in Siberia, at a time when weather conditions are at their most extreme.
