Beamish Museum's Halloween events sell out as soon as tickets are released

Tickets for October's return of the hugely popular Halloween nights at Beamish Museum were snapped up within minutes of going on sale.

Following the announcement that the County Durham attraction's Halloween events - cancelled last year due to the pandemic - would be back this year for three nights, tickets were released for sale at 10am this Monday - and they proved a fast sell-out.

Anyone looking to make a booking just over an hour later would be disappointed to find that the 6.30pm until 9.30pm slot on October 29, 30 and on the night of Halloween itself, October 31 were all booked up.

Last week a similar situation was seen when tickets for Fenwick's Santa on the Roof events sold out almost as soon as they went on sale, although there are other festive rooftop events going on sale there this week.

Beamish Museum has yet to announce its own Christmas evenings, which tend to prove just as popular as its Halloween evens.

This year's spooky family treat is focusing upon the 1900s Pit Village, Colliery Yard and Birch Wood areas.

Those lucky enough to have secured tickets - costing cost £10 for adults and £6 for children - are told to expect "creepy characters and terrifying tricks" as hooded figures, ghosts and ghouls will be lurking in the darkness.

Among the surprises in store will be ghostly stories, a distorting hall of mirrors, a fire show and family Halloween craft activities.

There won't be any access on the night to other parts of the museum, nor will there be any transport running so visitors won't be able to make a speedy escape from the ghouls.

The Halloween nights, like Beamish's Christmas events, always require a separate ticket and Beamish Unlimited Passes and Friends of Beamish membership cards cannot be used.
