Beaming Charlotte follows Prince William's lead after waving at dad during parade

Princess Charlotte shared a sweet moment with her dad Prince William today as she made her way onto the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Charlotte and her brother Louis stole the show as they stood on the balcony flanked by the Queen in front of thousands of people watching from below.

The seven-year-old joined her siblings Princes George and Louis and other royals to watch the stunning flypast as the platinum jubilee celebrations got underway for the Queen.

After being guided on to the balcony by her father, Prince William, the little princess and brother Louis beamed towards the crowds from the balcony’s edge.

At one point Louis darted towards his grandfather, who pointed him back towards his sister.

Members of the Royal Family had returned to the palace to wave at the huge crowds following an appearance at Horse Guards Parade for Trooping the Colour.

Earlier the three children took a ride in the carriage procession as they rode with their mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, to the delight of the adoring crowds.

But it appeared Charlotte wasn't overly impressed by her little brother's excited wave as she was seen telling him to stop and slapping down his hand. But Louis, four, doesn't look too put off and continues to smile.

Overhead photos also show her holding her little brother's hand during the trip, supporting him through the massive occasion.

The children were dressed in a light blue, navy and white colour scheme, with Louis donning a sailor-style top echoing an outfit worn by his father at the 1985 Trooping event.

George was dressed in a navy suit, white shirt and blue tie while Charlotte's hair was down with two fine plaits fastened with a blue ribbon.

The Cambridge kids were joined in their carriage by proud mum Kate and their step-grandmother, Camilla.

They all bowed their heads when the national anthem was played on their arrival into Horse Guards Parade.

Meanwhile their dad took part in the procession on horseback, dressed in his Irish Guards uniform.

The Earl of Wessex, the Countess of Wessex, the Lady Louise Mountbatten Windsor and the Viscount Severn were in the carriage behind, following by a third containing the Duke of Gloucester, the Duchess of Gloucester and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

After the procession the children were seen peeking out of the window, with Louis even doing an adorable salute to the military officers below.
